The controller has a keyboard for actuating functional units consisting of a contact-sensitive field (38) with key fields without moving parts, an associated display device (40) and a controller for changing the display. The contact-sensitive field is transparent and mounted with the display device. The size and arrangement of the key field can be altered by the controller and a separate emergency call button is provided.
