Production of the VP60 antigen, or a fragment thereof, of the rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus in plants and vaccine against the viral hemorrhagic disease of the rabbits comprising said antigen. The VP60 structural antigen, or a fragment thereof, of the rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) can be obtained in plants using a viral vector based on the sharka virus (PPV) comprising a promoter, a sequence of Recombinant DNA comprising a cDNA to the full-length PPV virus genome, and a DNA sequence encoding the RHDV VP60 protein, or a fragment thereof, inserted between the nucleotide sequences encoding the NIb and CP proteins of the PPV virus, and a cloning vehicle. The antigen obtained is capable of inducing protection in rabbits against a lethal discharge of RHDV and can be used as a recombinant subunit vaccine against viral hemorrhagic disease of rabbits.
