In an AV system which has a display capable of receiving a selection control information via a communications network; an amplifier capable of accessing to the display via the communications network; and a DVD player, a videotape recorder, and a set-top box which each are connected to the amplifier and the display,   there are provided:a selection section for selecting one sound information from a plurality of sound information outputted separately from the DVD player, the videotape recorder and the set-top box to the amplifier; anda communications section for transmitting to the display a selection control information which makes the display a selection of the video information to be outputted concurrently with the selected sound information, based on an connection information which indicates that the video information is to be outputted with the selected sound.
