The present invention relates to the use of an agent blocking the action of resistin for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. In particular, the present invention pertains to the use of resistin antagonists, such as anti-resistin antibodies, thiazolidinedione, oxazolidinedione, oxadiazolidinedione derivatives or mixtures thereof in the preparation of drugs for the prophylactic or therapeutic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
