PURPOSE: Provided are an adhesive which is improved in adhesion and heat resistance, a rubber reinforcing cord using the adhesive, a transmission belt using the adhesive which is excellent in durability in high temperature operation, and its preparation method. CONSTITUTION: The adhesive comprises a halogen-containing polymer; an acryl resin monomer; an epoxy resin; a phenol resin; a crosslinking agent; and an additive for enhancing heat resistance. Preferably the additive comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of a carbon compound; a mixture of a zinc compound and an alkaline earth metal compound; a mixture of a carbon compound and an alkaline earth metal compound; and a mixture of a carbon compound, an alkaline earth metal compound and a zinc compound. The rubber reinforcing cord comprises a cord element whose surface is coated with a resorcin-formaldehyde latex composition; and an adhesive layer formed at the surroundings of the cord element for adhering to rubber in curing, wherein the adhesive layer comprises the adhesive.
