PURPOSE: Provided is a cosmetic composition containing the extract of herbal medicine consisting of Punica granatum Linne, Trichosantes Kirilowii Maxim, Cnidium officinale, Foeniculum vulgare Gaertner and Chinese angelica. The composition has excellent anti-aging and whitening effects on the skin by improving skin winkles, scavenging superoxide radical and inhibiting matrix metalloprotease-1 synthesis. CONSTITUTION: The herbal medicine consist of Punica granatum Linne, Trichosantes Kirilowii Maxim, Cnidium officinale, Foeniculum vulgare Gaertner and Chinese angelica in a weight ratio of 5-7:6-8:2:4:1. It is extract with at least one kind of extraction solvents from purified water, methanol, ethanol, glycerine, ethylacetate, butyleneglycol, propylene glycol, dichloromethane and hexane. The cosmetic composition contains 0.001-30.0 wt.% of the extract.
