PURPOSE: A cooling method of an engine is provided to improve the durability of the engine by decreasing temperature deviation of a cylinder head metal surface and a cylinder block metal surface, to reduce cooling loss of the cylinder block by flowing coolant through the cylinder head to the cylinder block, and to increase fuel efficiency by lubricating efficiently with reduction of oil viscosity. CONSTITUTION: Coolant is pumped from a water pump(22), and streamed into a water jacket of a cylinder head(40) to cool the cylinder head. The rear part of a water jacket of a cylinder block(30) is connected to the rear part of the water jacket of the cylinder head by a coolant falling passage to move coolant downward from the rear part of the water jacket of the cylinder head to the water jacket of the cylinder block. A partition wall is formed vertically in the rear part of the water jacket of the cylinder block, and coolant through the coolant falling passage is moved from the rear part of the water jacket of the cylinder block to the front and streamed to the rear part with the U-shaped circulation passage.
