PURPOSE: A mobile terminal having a sound source regeneration function using a selective filter and a reproduction method for the same are provided to decrease noise and increase the quality of sound by selecting and using the most suitable filter for a sound source to be reproduce among a plurality of filters having respective specific frequency bands within the range of an audible frequency band. CONSTITUTION: If a user sets a specific frequency band mode suitable for specific sound source data in the range of an audible frequency band, a control part(12) outputs a control signal(38) to control the switch of a switch part(32) and provides a path to the first filter(34a). If the user selects desired sound source data, the control part(12) fetches the selected sound source data from a memory and transmits the data to a sound source regeneration processing part(30). The sound source regeneration processing part(30) decodes the sound source data according to a control signal, converts the decoded data into an analog signal, and outputs it. The switch part(32) outputs the analog signal to the first filter(34a). The first filter(34a) filters and outputs the analog signal.
