PURPOSE: To provide an advanced treatment apparatus which is able to remove phosphorous from wastewater in an anaerobic tank and decrease a size of the anaerobic tank and an anoxic tank by installing a gravity-type thickening tank or a sludge thickener between a final sedimentation basin and the anaerobic tank. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises an anaerobic tank (1) where a grit and sand removed wastewater and a thickened sludge are flown in to remove phosphorous from the wastewater and denitrify the wastewater, an anoxic tank (2) that keeps anoxic conditions by making the wastewater flown in from the anaerobic tank, supernatant from a thickener (5) and internal circulation water be flown in to remove nitrogen and a portion of organic materials therefrom, an aerobic tank (3) that removes a portion of the organic materials from wastewater flown in from the anoxic tank at an aerobic state and excessively absorbs phosphorous from the wastewater by using microorganisms, an internal circulation water transfer device (9) that transfers about 100-400% of internal circulation water from a rear end of the aerobic tank to the anoxic tank, a return sludge transfer device (10) that precipitates the wastewater flown in from the aerobic tank to discharge supernatant and transfer the sludge to the thickener, a thickened sludge transfer pipe (7) that transfers the thickened sludge from the thickener to the anaerobic tank, a supernatant transfer pipe (8) that transfers the supernatant from the thickener to the anoxic tank and a remaining sludge removing device (6) that removes excessive sludge having absorbed the phosphorous excessively from a final sedimentation tank (4).
