PURPOSE: An organic electroluminescence element and a method are provided to prevent formation of a local non-growth portion in a laminated layer, and partial short between electrodes. CONSTITUTION: An organic electroluminescence element comprises a substrate(1); a first electrode(2) formed on the substrate; a plurality of organic material layers(3) including one or more light emitting layers laminated on the first electrode; and a second electrode(4) formed on the organic material layers. The organic material layers of two or more layers has an interface through which electrons or holes traverse. The organic material layers are heat-treated at a temperature equal to or higher than glass transition points of materials of the organic material layers, and equal to or lower than melting points of the materials.
