METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING MULTICAST GROUP KEY BY USING NEW ALGORITHM WITHOUT ENCRYPTING UPDATED KEY VALUES TO CONCEAL UPDATED KEY VALUES

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for managing a multicast group key are provided to reduce calculating processes for updating key values by using a new algorithm without encrypting updated key values. CONSTITUTION: An intermediate internal node as a child node and an additional member node are generated by retrieving a member node near to a group manager node(S210). A private key of the member node is assigned and an intermediate internal node is generated(S220). Keys of upper level nodes of the intermediate internal node are updated(S230). A key update message including indexes of the updated internal nodes is generated and a multicast transmission process thereof is performed(S240). Blinded key values are transmitted to the additional member terminal by a unicast transmission method(S250). Keys of members are updated and a key of an additional member is recovered(S260).
