PURPOSE: A device for changing a desktop display in a mobile communication terminal is provided to change a desktop display with a simple operation such as an opening/closing operation of a folder, thereby reducing time and battery consumption without performing complex button operations for changing a display photo on the desktop. CONSTITUTION: A memory(12) stores image information to be displayed on the desktop and various programs for carrying out terminal operations. A key input unit(13) supplies a key input function for setting a desktop display change mode and selecting image information to be displayed on a terminal display window. An image output unit(14) receives the image information to be displayed, buffers the received information, and displays the buffered image information on the terminal display window. A terminal controller(15) reads images for changing a desktop display one by one whenever a folder is open/closed, and supplies the read images to the image output unit(14).
