PURPOSE: An online tournament game system determining prize money by win/lose and opened at all times, and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to join in a game in anytime, select a match, and secure the prize money according to the win/lose of the user. CONSTITUTION: The system(1000) has a game server(100) and a tournament progress/prize determination server(200). As the game server provides the game to client computers(10a-10n) through the communication network(50), the client computers progress the game. The tournament progress/prize determination server progresses a tournament and determines the prize money based on the win/lose by connecting to the client computers. The system includes a user database(120), a game database(210), and a tournament database(230).
