PURPOSE: A method is provided to allow for ease of construction and reduce costs by producing liner plate assemblies from planes of a nuclear fuel storage pool in advance and welding edges of the assemblies during construction. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step of dividing a polygonal nuclear fuel storage pool into planes(110,120,130,140,150,160) and producing vertical liner plate segments(211 to 262) by dividing each of the planes in a vertical direction; a step of arranging a bottom board for in-advance welding of the liner plate segments; a step of producing liner plate assemblies(210,220,230,240,260) by welding the vertical liner plate segments for each of the planes on the bottom board; a step of permitting the liner plate assemblies to stand upright in the field of construction of a spent nuclear fuel storage pool, and welding edges of the adjacent linear plate assemblies; and a step of welding vertical drain channels(300) to vertical welded parts of each of the liner plate segments.
