PURPOSE: Provided are the Lonicera japonica extract having activity of enhancing IGF-1 secretion, a method for manufacturing the same by extracting Lonicera japonica with water, alcohol or their mixture, and the application thereof. Therefore, the extract is orally or non-orally administered to children and adults having decreased IGF-1(Insulin-like Growth Factor-1) secretion activity. CONSTITUTION: The composition for inducing and/or enhancing IGF-1(Insulin-like Growth Factor-1) secretion is characterized by containing, as an active ingredient, 0.0001-10 wt.% of the extract of Lonicera japonica. The extract contains at least one active ingredient selected from the group consisting of loniceroside A, B, C, hederagenin derivative, lonicerin, loganin and iridoid glycosides including vogeloside and Epi-vogeloside.
