PURPOSE: A method and a system for settling payment to keep security of credit settlement information on the online are provided to reinforce security maintenance of the credit settlement information by inputting/transmitting the credit settlement information of a user through a wired/wireless communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A shopping mall(150) outputs personal information of a member and the information of a desired article as article transaction information. A communication company(250) outputs credit card information transmitted from the wired/wireless communication terminal(200) and the personal information as the settlement information. A PG(Payment Gateway)(300) certifies the member by receiving the article transaction information and the settlement information, requests a credit inquiry by transmitting the settlement information of the certified member to a financial institution server(350), and receives/transmits a result to the shopping mall.
