AIRBAG FOR PROTECTING PASSENGER IN VEHICLE AND PREVENTING SECONDARY INJURY OF PASSENGER FROM DEPLOYMENT OF AIR CUSHION IN ABNORMALLY SEATING PASSENGER

PURPOSE: An airbag for a passenger in a vehicle is provided to prevent secondary injury against deployment of the air cushion in seating the passenger abnormally by installing a piezoelectric sensor in an airbag door and restricting deployment of the air cushion in applying pressure to the airbag door over the predetermined value. CONSTITUTION: A passenger airbag of a vehicle is composed of an air cushion(100), an inflator(200) generating and supplying expansion gas to the air cushion, a housing(300) containing the inflator and the air cushion, an airbag door arranged in the upper part of the housing to surround the air cushion, and a control unit controlling deployment of the air cushion. A piezoelectric sensor(500) is installed in the airbag door to convert external pressure into the resistance value and output the signal to the control unit. The piezoelectric sensor measures the pressure applied to the airbag door, and electrically connects to the control unit. The piezoelectric sensor is formed of a small thin film expanded or contracted in applying voltage to change voltage in applying pressure.
