METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING MULTIMEDIA DATA IN A WIRELESS NETWORK, ESPECIALLY CONCERNED WITH PREFERENTIALLY TRANSMITTING DATA ACCORDING TO THE TRANSFER AMOUNT OF DATA AS AN ACCESS POINT ALLOCATES STANDBY TIME IN INVERSE PROPORTION TO TRANSFER AMOUNT PER UNIT TIME FOR MULTIMEDIA DATA TO BE TRANSMITTED BY EACH STATION
PURPOSE: A method for transmitting multimedia data in a wireless network is provided to preferentially transmit data according to the data transfer amount of each station as an AP(Access Point) allocates standby time in inverse proportion to transfer amount per unit time for multimedia data to be transmitted by each station and provided to reduce the transmission delay of data because backoff execution time is reduced by continuously transmitting the multimedia data. CONSTITUTION: Each station which wants to transmit multimedia data transmits a TS(Traffic Specification) to an AP(S100). Based on the TS information transmitted from the stations having multimedia data to be transmitted, the AP allocates and transmits standby time to each station(S110). In a DCF(Distributed Coordination Function) period, all the stations transmit data through competition, and a winner station only can transmit data to the AP(S120). In this case, the winner station can transmit multimedia data consecutively(S130).
