METHOD FOR SETTING UP BELL SOUNDS BY CALLER GROUPS, PARTICULARLY REGARDING TO DISTINGUISHING CALLER IDS AND CALLER BELL SOUNDS BY USING A LOCAL NUMBER OR TELEPHONE EXCHANGE NUMBER OF A SPECIFIC NUMBER BAND

PURPOSE: A method for setting up bell sounds by caller groups is provided to distinguish caller IDs and caller bell sounds by a local number or telephone exchange number of a specific number band, thereby identifying calls received from all groups. CONSTITUTION: If a terminal starts to operate, a receiver inputs telephone numbers for identifying callers by groups and a microprocessor stores the telephone numbers(201). Different bell sounds are allocated to the stored caller identification groups. Caller group identification service registration is updated in an information center of a mobile communication system or network(203). If a call signal is received through an RF(Radio Frequency) transmitting/receiving part and a base band signal processor(204), the microprocessor judges whether the call signal corresponds to a caller group(205). If not, a general bell sound is outputted and a call receiving number is displayed(206,207). If so, the bell sound allocated to the caller group is outputted and the call receiving number is displayed(208,209).
