PURPOSE: To provide a chlorine dioxide production apparatus capable of generating chlorine dioxide gas with an arbitrary concentration over a long period of time simply, safely and inexpensively. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for producing chlorine dioxide comprises a reaction chamber(3) for producing chlorine dioxide by reacting a chlorite solution(1) with an acid(2); a chlorite solution supply means(5) for continuously supplying the chlorite solution into the reaction chamber; an acid supply means(6) for continuously supplying the acid into the reaction chamber; an aerator(18) for continuously blowing air into a mixed solution(16) of the chlorite solution and the acid supplied into the reaction chamber; an outflow pipe(30) for drawing out chlorine dioxide gas(29) inside the reaction chamber; and a drain pipe(8) for continuously draining a reaction completed waste solution in the reaction chamber, wherein the apparatus is installed such that a supply amount of the chlorite solution supplied by the chlorite solution supply means, a supply amount of the acid supplied by the acid supply means and an inflow amount of air flown in by the aerator are controlled.
