DIRECT MAIN TITLE REPRODUCTION CONTROLLING METHOD AND A DISK PLAYER USING THE CONTROLLING METHOD, SPECIALLY IN CONNECTION WITH SEARCHING FOR A MAIN TITLE DIRECTLY RECORDED ON A DISK, AND REPRODUCING THE SEARCHED MAIN TITLE

PURPOSE: A direct main title reproduction controlling method and a disk player using the controlling method are provided to immediately search for a main title in a direct reproduction mode to reproduce the searched main title, thereby reproducing the main title within the shortest time without watching an initial title. CONSTITUTION: A system controller decides whether an execution mode is transferred to a direct reproduction mode(S201). If so, the controller retrieves title information recorded on a disk(S202). The controller decodes the recorded title information, and decides whether plural titles exist(S203). If so, the controller analyzes the retrieved title information, and determines one of the titles having the longest reproduction time as a main title(S204). The controller controls disk player configuration units to reproduce the main title(S205).
