PURPOSE: A joining method and a joint sealing agent are provided to increase strength and corrosion resistance of structure members. CONSTITUTION: A joining method comprises: a step of arranging a sealing agent to an interface formed by first and second joining surfaces of at least one structure member; a step of beginning an exothermic reaction to the sealing agent to enable the sealing agent to seal up the interface between the first and second joining surfaces at least partially; and a step of frictionally welding at least one structure member to form a joint between the first and second joining surfaces. The joint is sealed up at least partially by the sealing agent.
