PURPOSE: A device and a method for handling multiple queues using a common process algorithm on a multiprocessor data processing system are provided to offer high flexibility for determining a condition of context switch or queue process priority, and efficiently perform execution/maintenance of process and memory use. CONSTITUTION: Multiple queues(A,B,C) respectively have at least one entry. Multiple pointers respectively associate with the queue in the multiple queues. The first queue is the current queue and the first pointer associated with the first queue is the current point in the multiple pointers. A common queue handling routine(308) reads the entry in the current queue by using the current pointer associated with the current queue. A common queue pointer(300) stores the first pointer by responding to the first condition requesting change in the queue. A loader loads the second pointer as the current pointer.
