The cell search in the asynchronous cellular system between DS-CDMA base stations is made faster, and high efficiency and small size are realized.;At the time of cell search, the matching filter 22 is used to detect the relationship with the short code of the control channel, and the correlation peak position of the maximum power is detected as the long code timing. Subsequently, a plurality of correlators 28-1 to 28-n provided in parallel are used in parallel for RAKE synthesis, and the long code scheduled in the system is specified at the detected long code timing. After the long code synchronization is established, the multipath signals are received using the correlators 28-1 to 28-n described above, and RAKE is synthesized to determine the data. In the peripheral cell search, the long code timing is detected using the matching filter 22, and then the long code of the candidate neighboring cells is identified using the matching filter 22. The correlators 28-1 to 28-n receive the signals from the base stations being connected, and the matching filter 22 receives the signals from the base stations on both sides, and safely transitions are realized.
