PURPOSE: A method for producing ginseng liqueur based on ginseng spirituous liquor, and ginseng liqueur produced thereby are provided. Therefore, the produced ginseng liqueur maintains the distinctive efficacy and flavor of ginseng, and has a mild taste and flavor due to a long maturation period. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing ginseng liqueur based on ginseng spirituous liquor comprises the steps of: (1) adding ginseng selected from fresh ginseng, red ginseng and dried white ginseng in the amount of 1 to 5 wt.% or 0.4 to 2 wt.% into the rice during fermentation of the rice to prepare ginseng fermented wine; (2) distilling the ginseng fermented wine to prepare ginseng spirituous liquor; and (3) adding ginseng in the amount of 0.5 to 2.5 wt.% or 0.2 to 1 wt.% into the ginseng spirituous liquor and maturing the mixture for 180 days or more.
