Vehicle navigation method, for determination of diversion routes to avoid or go around traffic disruptions or traffic jams, in which static and dynamic data are used and the determined diversion routes are classified according to pre-selected criteria. An independent claim is made for a device for vehicle navigation comprising means for determining diversion routes for avoiding jams or disruptions and means for classification and output of the classification of calculated possible diversion routes.
