Arrangement for interrupting a nightmare when it begins comprises a sensor for measuring a person's pulse coupled to a transmitter. The sensor transmits a signal to a receiver which is connected to a control device that generates an impulse, if the evaluated pulse rate exceeds a threshold value, in order to wake a sleeping person. The signal from the transmitter can be transmitted wirelessly or over a cable.
