Method for reconstructing 3D image data records from endo-lumen recorded 3D images of hollow channel e.g. for cardiac blood vessels, involves determining 3D profile of central axis of hollow channel from 3D image
A method for reconstructing three-dimensional data records from endo-lumen 2-dimensional section images of a hollow channel, especially a blood vessel, in which with an image providing endo-lumen instrument (catheter) (1), two dimensional images of the hollow channel are prepared and by considering a known relative displacement position of the instrument in the hollow channel for each 2D sectional image (5) a 3D image data record is reconstructed by computer from the image data of the 2D sectional images (5). For reconstructing the 3D image data record with a volume imaging image recording method, a 3D image of the hollow channel (2) is recorded or a recorded 3D image is prepared, and from the 3D image a 3D profile of a central axis of the hollow channel (2) is determined, and the known relative displacement positions on the 3D profile of the central axis (10) are drawn, and the 2D-sectional images (5) corresponding to the 3D profile of the central axis (10) are inver ted relative to a central image normal of the preceding 2D sectional image and/or are displaced vertically to this image normal.
