Seat fabrication method has the following steps: determination of target criteria for the seat comprising complex comfort criteria and or requirements for the mechanical loading and rigidity; formation of a model based on test measurement series; setting of the target criteria as model inputs; determination of a set of construction parameters from the model and; selection of a suitable parameter set or parameter optimization using the parameter set generated by the model. Typical criteria considered are the maximum movement on sitting in the seat, hysteresis width for a given force and dissipation energy.
