Steering system for motor vehicle has control unit to determine quadrant value of standard steering angle from mathematical dependence of measured relative value of standard steering angle and summed steering angle
The steering system (10) for a motor vehicle has a unit (12) for the predetermining of a standard steering angle, an actuator unit (16) to create a superimposed steering angle, and a transmission (14) by which the standard steering angle and superimposed steering angle are converted into a summed steering angle. A control unit (32) determines the quadrant value of the standard steering angle from the mathematical dependence of a measured relative value of the standard steering angle and the summed steering angle as well as the absolute value of the superimposed steering angle. An independent claim is included for a method for the steering of a motor vehicle using the aforesaid steering system.
