The cam piston internal combustion engine has a central cam piston (1) and at least two additional cam pistons (2,3) which must be matched in their form so that in each important phase of the rotation they are almost always in surface contact over the whole height of the piston, or remain sealed in relation to one another. Each cam piston rotates in the engine casing in a cylinder conforming closely to its form. The engine casing consists of the same cylinder and piston number and forms from top to bottom a closed chamber. A return valve or centrally controlled valve are allocated to each inlet or exhaust port.
