Information terminal for provision of information to the public via a robustly constructed terminal within limited input keys. Alternately, the terminal can be configured as a touchscreen. The terminal has an internet interface, a processing unit and a memory area. The terminal is configured so that a side area of the screen is used as a menu area with menu bars and points. The menu can be directly controlled by the input means and used to move directly between menus, sub-menus and hyperlinks. Independent claims are also included for the following:- (A) a server system for provision of information to a public information terminal in which information providers can configure sub-menus controlling their information presentation and also control on which terminals their information will be displayed and; (B) a method for provision of information to a public information terminal.
