Method for making contact between persons, whereby at least one unit (P) transmits personal data from a storage element, which is then received by at least one other unit (P). The receiving unit constantly receives data that the transmitting unit constantly sends out at freely selected time intervals. These data are compared with personal data stored in the receiving unit, and if a predetermined degree of agreement is reached, a signal is sent out to the transmitting unit. Optimally each unit both transmits and receives personal data. When a signal is received a user is alerted acoustically and or visually and or haptically.
