Welding process involves preparation of the welding electrodes (WE) and workpiece (W), forward traversing of these to a small gap, introduction of shielding gas into the gap, and application of a high frequency voltage between the W and WE so that a flashover (sic) is produced between them, connection of the W and WE to a charged (sic) capacitor so that a welding stream of ionized shielding gas flows as an arc through the channel produced by the flashover and charging of the capacitor. An independent claim is included for a welding set with a nozzle for passage of the shielding gas.
