The unit with an internal combustion engine as a power source, including a power producer especially an electric generator, has a RPM governor to stabilize a preselected RPM and which governs a control component of the engine for variation fuel supplied to the engine up to a full load limit. A device is provided to measure the load change of the electric generator and by means of a signal connection is functionally connected to the RPM governor of the engine in such a way that the control component of the engine is controllable by the device independent of the RPM governor.
