A spring unit (1) absorbs vibration between a rail car bogey frame and the railcar chassis. The unit has three or more springs (A, B, C). The first spring has an elastic pneumatic cushion diaphragm with an inner criss-cross bracing fixed to a support plate (2) and a pneumatic spring seat (5). The diaphragm encloses an air chamber (6) linked to an external air supply (7). A second spring (B) is located between the pneumatic spring seat (5) and a base (3).
