Contactless optical method for determining three-dimensional position of object e.g. for production line automation in manufacturing plant, uses evaluation of object image provided by camera
The object position determination method uses a camera (2) for providing an image of the object (1), with analysis of the image information using the known geometric characteristics of the object for calculation of the three-dimensional (3-D) position and orientation of the object relative to an orthogonal coordinate system. An independent claim for a device for contactless optical determination of the 3-D position of an object is also included.
