An energy efficient rapid response warm water system has a small recirculating system to move warm water from a buffer tank through a heat exchanger (9) for rapid heating of demand water. The heating sequence is controlled by a pressure demand valve on the downstream side of the circulating pump (1) where the pressure changes a large compared with the outlet. This enables the user to have a controlled warm water supply using conventional response pressure valves.
