The seat insert (1) for use between the body (2) of a pilot and seat of especially a glider consists at least partially of a parachute pack (6) and upholstery elements. An adjustable upholstery element (10) is installed on the lower section of the parachute pack and by its lower side (11) merges into the rear side (12) of the parachute pack and in wedge fashion fills out the transition region between the seat shell, parachute pack, and pilot's body.
