A method for producing resin bonded pressed fibre boards with a formaldehyde emission of less than 0.1 ppm has thermal stabilisers added to the resin prior to pressing and heating. The can include tannin, resorcin, phenol and melamine, preferably phenol and/or melamine mixed with urea based resins and/or carbamide formaldehyde resins.
