An automated method for in vitro, large-scale screening of cells (A) that secrete at least one monoclonal antibody (MAb), with specific affinity for a compound of interest (I), is new. Automated method for in vitro, large-scale screening of cells (A) that secrete at least one monoclonal antibody (MAb), with specific affinity for a compound of interest (I) comprises: (a) distributing (A) in the wells of at least one culture plate; (b) culturing the cells, while monitoring their growth and culture quality; (c) iterative screening of (A) for secretion of MAb and cloning of cells that secrete at least one MAb; and (d) selecting at least one (A) that secretes MAb. An independent claim is also included for methods of improving production, by an animal, of cells that produce antibodes against (I).
