Power steering control process for motor vehicle, involves controlling torque applied to steering wheel to desired value that is calculated as function of skid signal and wheels rotational angle and, steering wheel speed and vehicle speed
The process involves determining a skid signal by comparing theoretical and actual values of torque applied to a steering wheel (23). A desired torque value is calculated as a function of the signal, and measured values of rotational angle and rotational speed of the steering wheel, and longitudinal speed of a vehicle. The applied torque is controlled to the desired value. An independent claim is also included for a system for controlling assistance of power steering of a motor vehicle.
