The process involves translating sources (1) of X-ray to detectors (4) with respect to a test zone (3) in a normal direction. A displacement of a point in a bone part in the test zone between views of the part is determined. Amplitude of the translation is compared with the displacement for deducing a degree of magnification corresponding to a view of the part whose geometrical characteristics is determined.
