The method involves sending a short messaging service having a code (C1) to a server by a telecommunication system. A code (C2) which is a predefined function of C1 is calculated by the server. The code C2 is sent to the system and is input in an interactive application. A code (C1`) which is an inverse function of C2 is calculated by the application. A television service is accessed by a user, by verifying whether C1 is equal to C1`. An independent claim is also included for a system of implementing a method of accessing an interactive television service.
