A device for the spraying of metal particles by an electric arc between two wires (11) comprises: (A) at least one extension piece (9); (B) some means (7) for feeding the two metal wires towards an electric arc zone (10) for melting the metal wires; (C) a spray nozzle (6), spraying the molten metal particles (15) parallel to the axis of the extension piece; (D) a deviation nozzle (4) fixed to a circular part (5) of the extension piece, itself rotating around the axis of the extension piece and incorporating a feed circuit (3) for air under pressure flowing through some channels (2) in order to deviate the metal particles perpendicular to their initial trajectory on leaving the spray nozzle. The deviation nozzle incorporates a cavity (1) emerging on the leading (12a) and trailing (12b) surfaces. - An independent claim Is also included for coating the surface of a component using this device.
