PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating the inner peripheral surface of a tube, which can prevent the formation of concave-like creases on the outer surface of the tube, can non-irregularly uniformly treat the inner peripheral surface of the tube, and can prevent that a toner is put in convex-like or concave-like creases on the outer surface of the tube to deteriorate the qualities of printed products, when the tube is used as a cover material for the thermally fixing roller of an electronic copying machine, and to provide a method for treating the inner peripheral surface of the tube. PSOLUTION: This apparatus for treating the inner peripheral surface of the tube, for pressing the side portion of the tube with a pair of rollers 24 to dispose an occluded portion 18 in the tube, injecting a surface-treating liquid 22 into the occluded portion, and then upward or downward moving the tube or the rollers to move the position of the occluded portion, thus treating the inner peripheral surface of the tube, is characterized in that the rollers are disposed to press the tube with one of the rollers in one direction and simultaneously press the tube with the other roller at a place different from the above press position in the other direction.
