PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory drive logic and a stand-alone tape file structure.;SOLUTION: File transfer logic transfers file data to and from a network according to a first protocol. A medium access logic accesses a sequential access storage medium related to a drive according to a second protocol. A medium management logic converts a command based on a file received from the network according to the first protocol into a sequential access device command following the second protocol. A device command controls the access of data by the drive.
