PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheathed thermocouple capable of making its response speed faster, making its heat capacity smaller, having satisfactory flexibility, and being arranged in a narrow part of a robot or the like.;SOLUTION: In a sheath made of metal of SUS316, SUS310S or NCF600, a core wire of an N thermocouple element wire, E thermocouple element wire, J thermocouple element wire, T thermocouple element wire, or K thermocouple element wire is housed interposing an insulating material of an alumina (Al₂O₃) or a magnesium oxide (MgO) between, and the outer diameter of the sheath wherein the core wire and the insulating material are put is reduced over the whole length.
