SIGNAL CONTROL METHOD AT INTERSECTION AND TRAFFIC MEASURING METHOD FOR EACH DIRECTION AT INTERSECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realtimely control a traffic signal in real-time by detecting the tail end of stopped vehicles to calculate an actual length and speed of the stopped vehicles, not by predictedly calculating a vehicle waiting time, the number of passing vehicles, and the number of remaining and not by recognizing each vehicle by an image processing based on the stopped vehicle detection method, but by identifying a position, speed, or the number of each stopped.;SOLUTION: Under a photographing situation of a camera angle by which coming vehicles captured from the opposite side or diagonally upper side can be seen running from left to right on a monitor screen, at the time of detecting a luminance level different from a latest road luminance level by scanning a detection line T1 from left to right on the monitor screen, the detected point is determine to be the tail end of vehicles stopped for waiting for a signal changing. A plurality of detection lines is provided to prepare data on passing vehicles and the data is defined as a parameter which affects presenting green of a signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
