METHOD FOR ACTIVATING SERVICE AREA OF EXPRESS HIGHWAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for activating a service area of an express highway, which leads to the increased attraction of the service area for users of not only the express highway but also a general road by utilizing an automatic toll collection system.;SOLUTION: Part of a usage fee by use of commercial facilities in the service area 10 is returned to an IC card of an in-vehicle device of the automatic toll collection system, whereby the use of the service area 10 leads to the promotion of use of the commercial facilities 1A-1C in the service area in addition to reduction in the toll of the express highway 20. Further, part or all of an admission fee collected at an ETC gate 3 of the automatic toll collection system at the time of entering the service area 10 from a general road 30 to use the commercial facilities 1A-1C in the service area 10 which is a psychological disorder at the time of entering can be covered by the return from the commercial facilities 1A-1C.
